Thursday, 13th January 2011

If I were a boy I would have good taste. My hair would be slightly swishy and unkept, I'd wear polos, T-shirts and jumpers and jeans. In summer I'd spend my life at the beach in some nice swimming shorts, bearing my toned body. In winter I'd have a coat, preferably grey and long.
I'd own a big shaggy dog and I would walk him regularly in a park, he would probably be my best friend.
I would speak at least English and French, I would also understand maths and science. I would have outstanding grades at school.
I'd play the guitar or the bass and I would be in a band.
I would only smoke occasionally at parties and sometimes get drunk. But not very often.
When I would have a girlfriend I would treat her with respect, I'd take her to the movies and out for dinner.  I'd listen to her and console her when she'd be sad. I would support her through whatever she'd decide do undertake.
If I were a boy, I would date myself.

Song of the day: Violet by Hole. Who knew Courtney Love was (sort of) talented?

Quote of the day: Comedy is simply a funny way of being serious. Peter Ustinov.

Monday, 10th of January 2011

Ah. Holidays. Personally, the winter/Christmas ones are probably my favourite. A legitimate excuse  to just lie in bed, drinking hot chocolate and reading books? Yes please. For the first time of my fifteen years of life,  I read the Harry Potter series. And thoroughly enjoyed them, unlike Twilight they're famous for a good reason. I spent my blissful two weeks and a half pottering about (pun intended) in a slightly isolated but charming water mill in France my parents bought during their mid-life crisis.
I should probably tell you more about myself, I'm Audrey*, I was born in Sydney, Australia. When I was one, we (my sister Naomi*, my father and my mother) moved to Switzerland. I own a Cairn Terrier, the same breed as Toto in the Wizard of Oz. I enjoy bands such as Pink Floyd, Phoenix, The Kooks, The Pretty Reckless, The Prodigy, The Doors,The xx, Bombay Bicycle Club and so on. My favourite colours are grey, green and navy.
Anyway, the point is, the holidays are over, today is the real new year. Back to school. Now is when the resolutions actually kick in. Mine are:

1. Write (ergo the blog).
2. Run (at least twice a week).
3. Work hard, play hard.

Book of the day: Martin Lukes: Who Moved My Blackberry? by Lucy Kellaway. I am loving it so far, the hero of the novel is so detestable.

Song of the day: Dani California by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I never really noticed this song until today, when I stumbled upon it on my iPod.

Outfit of the day: A Norwegian style cardigan, grey singlet, jeans, trench coat and Converse.

Quote of the day: Experience is the name every one gives to their mistakes. Oscar Wilde.
